It is the very moral turpitude that females engender, the lack of trust, and the furtive glance cast over one’s shoulder at the woman with the glinting eye — or the glinting steak knife — that stimulates the synapses, galvanizes the nerves, freezes the heart —and on occasion can be, frankly, well, exciting. As Charles Addams might have it, it makes life worth living.
